A Lion Among Men: Volume Three in the Wicked Years by Gregory Maguire
I enjoyed this book, but wasn’t incredibly excited by it. While Wicked was a fabulous interpretation of the Wicked Witch of the West’s character, the following volumes in The Wicked Years Series are a bit too bogged down with politics for me. A lot of the action that occurred in the previous books is alluded to and covered in detail at some points (which was helpful, given that I read Son of a Witch a few years ago, though somewhat slowed the story for me). Not sure I’ll be reading any more of the adventures of characters in Oz any time soon, but I may revisit Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, my favorite Maguire retelling and one of my favorite books.
