The Dark Mirror (The Bridei Chronicles #1) by Juliet Marillier
I didn’t like The Dark Mirror as much as I’ve enjoyed other novels by Marillier. Though I’m reminded of Wolfskin; I liked the first one (albeit a lot more than I enjoyed The Dark Mirror), but I absolutely loved Foxmask. And I remember loving each book in the original Sevenwaters Trilogy more than the last. So, I’m fairly certain that I will be in love with these books just as much as I was with Marillier’s other works by the time I’ve finished this series.
